Mzima offers a comprehensive end-to-end transparent Ethernet LAN transport service designed to connect remote locations requiring dedicated high-speed private connectivity.
Mzima's Ethernet Private Line service consists of a metro Ethernet wavelength from Mzima's core backbone POP in each city to the specific remote location. Between backbone POPs, the circuit is built using Mzima's long-haul transport network based on Turin Networks' line of optical switching solutions.
This optical transport network serves as the foundation for Mzima’s international IP backbone, and provides a high level of availability via SONET-level protection. Available at Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet and 10 Gigabit Ethernet speeds, the service allows simple integration with existing LAN infrastructure at both ends of the circuit. Mzima’s Ethernet Private Line service provides true, dedicated bandwidth via Ethernet over SONET circuits, unlike traditional MPLS VPNs delivered over existing layer 3 infrastructure. Service is available between cities across Mzima’s network.
