Mzima Networks announces completion of nationwide backbone upgrade, availability of native 10 Gig Ethernet services throughout network

LOS ANGELES - April 10 2006 - Mzima Networks announced today that it had completed a significant upgrade of its U.S. domestic backbone network, making 10 Gig Ethernet services available at all core backbone POPs.

For the upgrade, Mzima Networks partnered with industry leaders Force10 Networks and Turin Networks to provide high-capacity routing, switching and optical transport infrastructure. This deployment provides true line-rate, non-blocking 10 Gbps performance for customers that require large amounts of bandwidth for applications that require high performance metrics and the ability to scale usage rapidly.

In addition, Mzima has announced a new line of products and services, including its new flagship transport product - Virtual Private Line. Enabled by Mzima's network-wide deployment of an dedicated optical transport system, Mzima now offers a true Ethernet-over-SONET solution widely considered to be superior to the MPLS solutions offered by competitors.
